Police are asking the public to help them identify the driver of a van who might have witnessed an accident leading to the death of a local cyclist.

David Warburton of Broadwoodwidger, 59, was found dead beside his bike at the road into the village from the A30 on Tuesday, August 11.

Police were called out at 10.35am that morning.

A police spokesperson said: “We want to identify the driver of the van as it is believed they may have witnessed the cyclist’s movements before he came off his bike and may be able to assist the investigation.”

The van driver, or anyone who knows who they are, is asked to contact 101 or report the information via the police website quoting 50260213230.
