A mass sponsored dog walk thronged the country lanes round Tavistock in aid of an animal rescue charity.

About 70 people and their dogs surprised their pets with an extended walk for the Margaret Green animal charity on Sunday, September 6.

Man’s best friend and their owners walked 4.5 miles along quiet roads from Wingletang animal rescue centre near Tavistock, to Peter Tavy to raise hundreds of pounds for temporary housing, care and rehoming.

Tracey and Simon Langford took Alsatian Thunder on the walk in warm sunny weather. Tracey said: “We’re doing the walk to say thank you to Margaret Green because we adopted Thunder from the RSPCA via the rescue centre here. He was nervous, because of previous abuse, but is as good as gold.”
