Ford Street in Tavistock has now reopened following work by South West Water to repair a water leak.

The water supply was cut off to homes close by this morning, Friday, August 7, apparently due to a burst water main.

The mini roundabout at the junction between Ford Street and West Street was partly submerged in water.

Residents in Boughthayes and Meadow Brook woke up to no water, but households are now reporting that their water supply is back on.

A spokesperson for South West Water said this afternoon: "Our teams have been working hard to repair a burst main in West Street this morning. Repairs are now complete, and the road will be fully reinstated as soon as possible.”
