Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian at the junction between Brook Street and Parkwood Road, Tavistock at around 5.35pm on Wednesday 5 January.
A woman in her 80s was extracted from underneath the car by a fire crew and escorted into nearby Fulfords estate agents on a stretcher in wait for an ambulance.
Local police have confirmed the woman was then taken to hospital with a serious leg injury which was described as not life changing or life threatening.
