A SCHEME run by Calstock Arts to create illuminated Advent Calendar windows in the village during the run up to Christmas is benefiting from a £450 grant from Calstock Parish Council. Councillors were asked to financially support the project at their meeting on Tuesday last week.

Cllr Alastair Tinto said: ‘It is a lovely project. Each house will have an Advent window which will be lit up each night in the run up to Christmas. They are also going to do workshops. It is a really nice project and I would like to support it.’

This was unanimously agreed by councillors. The calendar involves a different household switching on their display each evening in Advent so that by Christmas Eve the whole village is full of festive illuminated windows.
