CALLINGTON Town Council elected Councillor Sue Tolman as the new Portreeve at a full council meeting last night (December 13).

Cllr Tolman who has already served as the town's Portreeve and was currently the Deputy Portreeve will be taking over the role for the remainder of the year. This follows Cllr Mike Tagg stepping down from his position as Portreeve at the end of last month.

Jo Taylor, the town clerk said in response to Sue's election: 'We welcome Sue as Portreeve. She's been a Portreeve before and I'm sure she will carry out her duties to a high standard.'
