Police are appealing for information after a property in Bere Alston was burgled whilst the elderly resident was sleeping in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).

Police said the incident took place in the centre of the village.

Officers said: ‘An elderly male was asleep in bed when the property was broken into and an untidy search was carried out including the bedroom where he was sleeping with items being stolen.

‘We are very keen to identify the persons involved in this incident.
