Calstock Parish Council has reported that Devon County Council has answered its pleas to tackle overgrown vegetation sprouting out of Newbridge, where the A390 crosses the River Tamar at Gunnislake.
Passing points for walkers on the bridge had become overgrown with foilage, much to the dismay of those who regularly cross the bridge.
Councillor Stuart Hughes, Devon County Council’s cabinet member for highways management, said: ‘The work consisted of tidying up the road edges of foliage on either side. This has now been completed by contactors and I have now received a thank-you message from the parish clerk.’
